So before I post the fourth installment of Make it Cheap Monday tonight, I wanted to just share with you a little bit about why I started doing that on here.
Over a year ago I started reading $5 Dinners and was continually impressed at Erin's ability to make a nutritious dinner for her family every night for just $5 or less, total. And it all looks yummy! Anyhow, every Monday, Erin posts a $5 Dinner Challenge where she encourages her readers to also make a super affordable meal for their families.
After participating in this for a few months, I thought it would be fun to post a recipe on here each week that was super affordable and easy to make. Monday just seemed like a good day to do it on since I was already participating in Erin's Challenge and because it (hopefully) gives you enough time to work that recipe somewhere in your week's dinners. Anyhow, I'm not putting a dollar limit on it because I want to keep the options a little more open. Like tonight, I'll be featuring a recipe for Chinese Egg Rolls and comparing the cost of ordering these in a Chinese restaurant against making them yourself.
Are there any meals you would like me to make and compare the cost of cooking at home vs. eating the meal out?
