I'm so looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home with my little family. We're going to a parade tomorrow morning but other than that, we don't have any firm plans - we can just do whatever we feel like. :)
My top five favorite things from this week:
Khale and I took the kiddos on our annual trip to the Denver zoo. It was crazy hot that day but we consoled our heat-stricken bodies with beer and ice cream.
Since when do zoos sell beer anyway?
Cheyenne is a pretty small city but this week I discovered that it was named as the #5 best city in the nation to raise a family and #2 for the best schools. Yay! Our schools are awesome and sometimes I feel like many of the people who have lived here for a long time completely take it for granted - judging by the amount of complaining I hear about things that honestly aren't a huge deal.
I'll stop before I go on a long rant. Because I'm totally restraining myself over here. :)
My dad had a long layover at the Denver airport on Friday so we got to see him! My brother, John, also happened to be arriving at the same time for a work conference in Denver so we ended up having a last minute family get together. Loved it!
Frontier Days is in full swing! It's a week-long rodeo event and our city doubles in size every year from all the tourists that come. I love everything about it. Well, except for all the extra foot traffic in our neighborhood that inspires people to throw their trash in our yard.
Every year it amazes my husband and I to see the rides our little daredevil daughter goes on. If she's tall enough to meet the height requirement (and she's the average height of someone two years older than she actually is) she'll ride it. Which cracks us up because she's extremely cautious and careful in everyday life situations.
Harper turned seven months old yesterday! I know every parent says it but I can't believe how fast she's growing. Little punk.
I hope you all have an amazing weekend. You're the best.
Like always, I'm joining the High Five for Friday fun at From My Grey Desk. You should check it out.
