I love using Pinterest for inspiration. Sadly, the food section of it is the most corrupted. And by corrupted, I mean filled to the point of being completely frustrating with foods that are photo shopped to look good but actually taste terrible.
Random side note: if you repin something, please change the comment to reflect your thoughts about it. It always cracks me up when people leave comments like "My husband, Brian's, favorite cookies!" when that's not their husband's name.
But since this is a food blog, sometimes I like to share my favorite Pinterest success stories. You know, those recipes that turn out fabulous.
These beauties from Sugar Cooking: Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chip Pretzel Cookies. Perfect combo of sweet and salty. Densely soft and chewy.
I'm going to make this again this weekend. Hurry up, Saturday!
I made this for dinner last night because I needed an easy slow cooker dinner. BBQ Pot Roast over Cheddar Ranch Grits from Plain Chicken.
I kind of winged it with the grits because I didn't want to use a ranch dressing seasoning packet so I just added garlic powder, salt, pepper, parsley and cheddar to them. And I totally texted one of my Tennessee friends very excitedly because this was the first time in my entire life that I've ever made or eaten grits. And I grew up in the South so I'm not sure how that escaped me.
Anyhow, the pot roast smelled fantastic when I got home and tasted even better. Thanks, Pinterest!
